We are a small group of volunteers who enjoy the outdoors and try to make the Friary grounds pleasing to all who visit.
We collect leaves in the autumn for composting, we mow the extensive lawns and edge them, trim hedges, sow seeds, grow seedlings on, plant out seasonal plants, upkeep the graveyard, maintain by turning the compost heaps for use on beds and borders.
We would clearly welcome anyone who would like to get fit without the cost of a club, and who enjoys the outdoors, experience is not necessary as full training can be given. We meet on Monday mornings throughout the year unless it is raining, start time is flexible but usually around 9.30, finishing time is also flexible, but we always stop at 11.0clock, for coffee break, and a general chat.
During the summer months some of the Monday group and others meet on a Tuesday evening primarily for maintenance of the graveyard. Of course we would welcome more help, so if you have some spare time and would like to join us, please come and have coffee with us on the next dry Monday or speak to Steve Roper on 0121 7051737 or the parish office.
